Blessings are connected to Tawhīd al-Rubūbīyyah (Oneness of Allāh’s Lordship) and Tawhīd al-Uluhīyyah (Oneness of Allāh’sWorship) and giving thanks to Allāh for them is divided into two sections
Section #1
Section #2
Gratefulness after the occurrence of a blessing. Which is achieved by the following
Attaching oneself to Allāh before the blessing
The Heart
By having sincere belief and faith and complete submission that Allah is the Provider and Bestower and that every blessing that a slave is a recipient of is solely from Allāh
The Tongue
By mentioning the blessings of Allāh, praising Him, giving thanks to Him and glorifying Him. As Allāh the Most High states
"And proclaim the Grace of your Lord"
Quran [93:11]
The Limbs
By using such blessings in a manner that pleases Him, by doing acts of worship to get closer to Him and by staying away from sins in fulfillment of His commandments
This type requires from the slave unwavering belief and faith that the Bestower of blessings is Allāh; therefore, the slave does not connect his heart to other than Allāh, nor does he seek goodness from anyone other than Him.Just as Paradise is not sought from anyone except Allāh,as He is the possessor of it; similarly, we do not seek provision from other than Allāh.
And put your trust (O Muhammad ) in the Ever Living One Who dies not, and glorify His Praises, and Sufficient is He as the All-Knower of the sins of His slaves;”
- Quran [25:58]
Verily, those whom you worship besides Allah have no power to give you provision, so seek your provision from Allah (Alone)” i.e., provisions are [found] with Allāh and not with anyone else, “And worship Him (Alone), and be grateful to Him
- Quran [29:17]
